In Chivhu, Zimbabwe, something lovely happened at Chambara Clinic. Friends of Zimbabwe and Floreokids in Holland gave a special gift to help families with new babies.

The gift was simple but very important: baby clothes and cozy blankets. Every week, Chambara Clinic sees 5 to 6 babies being born. These gifts mean the babies can be warm and comfortable.

One day, a baby was born in the morning, but their parents didn’t have clothes for them. We came in the afternoon with our gifts. Even though we were late, we knew the next baby would have what they needed.

This gift is worth more than just things. It shows that people care about each other, no matter where they are from. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.

As we remember this kind moment, we know that even a small gift can bring lots of happiness. Our goal is to keep helping and making the world better for everyone.

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent flea market in Oegstgeest. With the combined efforts of our enthusiastic team, generous donations of clothing and goods, and the blessing of beautiful weather, the event was a resounding triumph.

Thanks to your unwavering support, we raised a remarkable total of €1063,-, which will be directed towards our next project—a computer lab at Chamukwenjera Primary School. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and participation of everyone involved.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who helped us during this memorable day, contributing their time, energy, and resources to make a difference. Your enthusiasm and generosity have ignited hope and created a path towards enhanced educational opportunities for the students in need.

Furthermore, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the kind-hearted individuals who donated clothing and goods to our foundation. Your contributions have played a significant role in fueling our progress and empowering communities in Zimbabwe.

On 1st of March, we executed a car wash campaign. It was a great success with 6 cars washed and 310 euros gained(!!). All proceeds from the car wash went to our project for Chamukwenjera Pimary school.

If the errands of the week, bad weather or anything else has made you think your car needs a cleaning, then call us to take care of it. Not only will you get a clean car, but you will also provide a better future for communities in Zimbabwe.

On September 22 we had the honor to host our first benefit dinner for our foundation Friends of Zimbabwe. It was our first time to speak in public telling people about our team, why the foundation has been founded, our achievements so far and our mission and vision. It touched us to see that so many people are interested in our work. The turnout was amazing, and we managed to bring in € 540,- more in donations! 

We would like to thank everyone who came to support us at this very important event. It was heartwarming to see how many people support us in achieving our dream to help communities in Zimbabwe. It is more than appreciated! 

Also a great thank you to the 3Stones Kenyan Restaurant in The Hague. They hosted us and provided us with a delicious 3-course dinner in African style. It was truly delicious and the ambiance was amazing.

Another trunk sale made possible by all donations we’ve received. Once we’ve decided we wanted to join another trunk sale, we’ve sent out notifications to friends and family to ask them for goods which we could sell for the foundation. This resulted in 2 cars full of goods, how nice!

They day itself was sunny, cheerful and again another succes! This time we’ve managed to raise EUR 83. After sharing this succes, our dear friend decided to top this up to total EUR 100! 

We are very privileged with all the support we get. Thanks to all of you who believe in our cause!

Getting so many goods and clothes donated means we have to go out and sell! Therefore we went this time to the trunk sale at Valkenburg (the Netherlands) where you could sell your goods out of your trunk. It was also our first time to show our newly made banner and t-shirts. Again a great success for our foundation Friends of Zimbabwe! We’ve raised EUR 71,50.

5 May – liberation day in Holland. An important day where people celebrate freedom. In many city’s there are free markets where you can sell second hand goods. This was a great opportunity for us to sell and raise money for the foundation.

Our dear friends Els and Tim were able to arrange the best spot for us on the main street of the market. This was great news. Now we could start planning. Once people knew we were going to sell for Friends of Zimbabwe, we’ve received clothes and many other stuff which we could sell. To raise extra money, we arranged a coffee table to sell coffee, tea, lemonade and cupcakes and we made a  grab bag where children could grab a present for 50 cents. 

We had 3 cars loaded. The market was supposed to start at 08:00 AM, but when we arrived at 06:30 AM it was already packed. We were overwhelmed by the people who already wanted to buy many of our items. It was hectic, but it set the tone for a fantastic day. 

It turned out that our coffee table was a great success. Many people came buy. Some even specifically chose us to buy their coffee, because they were attracted by the name ‘Zimbabwe’. We were able to network with many people who could possibly help and support us in the future. On top of that, after people heard our cause, some even decided to make a donation straight away!

At 17:00 when the market was over, we set down and counted the raised money. Our crew consisting of Margot, Sophie, Christian, Prince and Jacqueline was able to raise EUR 501,35. All this money will be used to accomplish our first project.

It was an amazing day to look back at!

12 desktop computers were donated to the Friends of Zimbabwe foundation by worldwide forwarder Ritra Cargo. We’ve shipped them to Zimbabwe and they will be used at Chamukwenjera Primary School.
